GM Legal has specialist experience in election laws as applicable in India. Manuraj, Partner and Advocate has particular expertise in representing parliamentarians and public servants in relation to many aspects of election laws including:
– Representation of the People Act 1951
– Conduct of Election Rules 1961
– Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order 1968
We are advising and representing some of the election petitioners as well as defendants in the High Court of Madras and Supreme Court of India in a number of election matters.
GM Legal possesses considerable experience in assisting with nomination papers and affidavits, scrutiny process and the preparation of election accounts and reconciliation procedures. GM Legal also has significant experience in dealing with Election Petitions, which are statutory applications filed under the Representation of the People Act 1951, and conducting election trials before the High Court.
Additionally, GM Legal has also advised in a host of cases which deal with the conduct of election to local government in the State of Tamil Nadu and challenges to election notifications by Writ Petitions.
