Emergency “provisional measures” on Myanmar to protect Rohingya Muslims from genocide pursuant to the requirements of the 1948 Genocide Convention – “Gambia v Myanmar”

The United Nations highest Court, the International Court of Justice has (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, on the 23 January 2020, in the matter of The Gambia v Myanmar has imposed emergency “provisional measures” on Myanmar to protect Rohingya Muslims from genocide pursuant to the requirements of the 1948 Genocide Convention.   The ICJ’s orders are binding on Myanmar and creates legal obligations that must be enforced.
