ABOUT MANURAJ

Manuraj is a lawyer practicing at the Madras High Court. He is also a National Media Spokesperson for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Party.

In November 2010, Manuraj was selected as a Fellow of the Legislative Fellows Program organised by the US State Department in Washington DC.
In July 2013, Manuraj participated in the European Union Visitor Program, with fellowships in Brussels, Strasbourg and The Hague.
In January 2014, Manuraj was part of the Australia - India Youth Dialogue in New Delhi and Hyderabad.
In August 2017, Manuraj was part of an all-India delegation to Israel under the Project Interchange program.

Manuraj holds a Master of Philosophy in Physics from the Australian National University, and Graduate Law LLB degree from the University of Delhi.

Manuraj has always worked to advance the cause of responsible politics, participatory governance and social justice. Manuraj was the former Founder Director of Vaagai Advisory, a public policy research and political consultancy firm. He has also worked as a Policy Advisor to Members of Parliament.

Since, June 2015, Manuraj was appointed a National Media Spokesperson for the DMK party, an exceptional and prestigious honour for a person under 35 years of age.  He has regularly participated in news discussions and talk shows on English news channels such as NDTV, India Today, CNN News 18, Times NOW and NewsX and Tamil news channels including Puthiya Thalaimurai, Thanthi TV and News7.

In all of his over 50 such appearances, Manuraj has strived to elevate the level of debate through meaningful deliberation of political and legal issues. In addition, Manuraj is a regular writer on contemporary policy issues and legal developments for the Times of India, Huffington Post and Indian Express.

Manuraj has also published articles in The Hindu, Scroll and Caravan magazine.
